How It Works:

Carbonless paper contains microscopic capsules filled with colorless dye on one side, and a reactive clay coating on the other. When pressure is applied (writing, typing, or impact printing), the capsules burst and react with the clay, producing a permanent blue image on the sheet below – no carbon sheet required.
